Latin America. DirectOut launched its native plugin for Bitfocus' Companion, the result of a collaboration between DirectOut, its German distributor sphereo, and Dorian Meid, a programmer of Companion modules with extensive experience.
Compatible with Companion 4.0.0 or later, the plugin automatically detects PRODIGY and MAVEN series devices. It can be used with any Stream Deck hardware interface to provide greater control with fully programmable presets and parameters.
Companion is an open-source control surface software that allows you to control multiple devices in the broadcast and live industries, and can be used with or without a physical interface. The buttons can be programmed with a variety of functions, from simple selections to full scripts. The result is a customizable interface that simplifies the execution of complex commands and allows you to manage multiple hardware devices from a single dashboard.
The DirectOut module for Companion provides access to most PRODIGY and MAVEN features, including input/output routing, configuration and status reporting (e.g., for EARS), and more. Each parameter control has a learn button, which allows the plugin to read the currently managed parameter and its value. This is useful if the function is not part of a preset and the user wants to add a specific command without knowing the control protocol. The Action Recorder allows you to capture sophisticated operations for activation, allowing you to enter a series of actions quickly and efficiently.
Companion also benefits from a web management emulator, allowing you to trigger actions without configuring the hardware driver devices. The position of buttons in Stream Deck can be customized and refined for any application. Button pages can be saved and quickly accessed when needed. The module also includes a list of presets, which can be used as a starting point for editing and adjusting the module's settings.
The DirectOut Companion plugin was released under the MIT Open Source License and can be downloaded from Bitfocus' Companion repository on GitHub, by clicking here.
