Mexico. Universidad Anáhuac Puebla, a leading institution in academic excellence in Latin America, has announced the successful implementation of an intelligent audio ecosystem, with Shure solutions, to consolidate its hybrid teaching model.
This project redefines the classroom experience, allowing for a fluid and natural interaction between its 4,500 students, whether they are in person or remotely.
The Challenge: Overcoming the Barriers of Distance Education
Faced with a sustained growth of its student community, the institution faced the challenge of adapting its academic spaces to the new hybrid reality. Traditional classrooms presented critical limitations: lack of clarity in the voice when the teacher moved around the classroom, persistent echo, and ambient noises that made collaboration difficult.
"We faced problems of listening, clarity in messages and fluid collaboration. From that, we took on the task of looking for technological solutions that would transform our classrooms into smart spaces," said Fernando Vega, director of systems at the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla.
To solve these needs, the university selected Shure's Microflex Ecosystem, a professional audio solution recognized for its ability to integrate with third-party software and hardware. The project included the installation of:
Shure MXA920 Ceiling Microphones: For precise voice pickup anywhere in the classroom.
Shure MXN5-C Networked Speakers: Ensuring clear, consistent audio reproduction.
IntelliMix P300 and ANIUSB-MATRIX processors: Devices that ensure active noise suppression and efficient management of digital signals.
This network-connected infrastructure allows audio, video and automation to work together, offering advanced features such as voice camera tracking and auto-mute.
Benefits: Total focus on teaching
The implementation has eliminated "technological fatigue" in the teaching staff. According to Carlos Miguel Ramos Linares, coordinator of the Smart Room, the teacher can now fully concentrate on pedagogy: "Today he only needs to turn on the light and start his class; the system takes care of the rest, eliminating external noises and connection problems."
With the modernization of spaces such as the 360 Classroom and the E4 Smart Room, the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla is positioned as a technological benchmark in Latin America.
"It is a digital solution that not only solves current audio problems, but also allows firmware updates for future improvements and full interoperability with the main collaboration platforms," explained Julián Sánchez, market development specialist at Shure.
