Latin America. Pleneo has announced that it has obtained ISO 42001 certification, becoming the first manufacturer of devices in the audiovisual (AV) and unified communications (UC) sectors to have this international standard in terms of security and governance of artificial intelligence.
This milestone recognizes the growing impact of AI in the unified communications space, as well as Pleneo's accountable, secure, and transparent approach to integrating AI into its hardware and software ecosystem.
The certification validates the end-to-end governance of the AI technologies that power its intelligent room platform including AI AutoDeploy, AI NoiseSense, machine learning-based room enhancement, and AEC, among others, all of which are securely processed directly on the device itself, within Pleneo's own equipment.
By bringing processing power closer to the physical space of the room, the company ensures that adaptive features operate in real-time, protect user privacy, and reduce reliance on the cloud without compromising intelligence or performance.
"Artificial intelligence should not be anywhere else, but in the space where people gather," says James Knight, CEO of Pleneo. "Our AI works directly on the device, within the room itself, understanding acoustics, behavior, and context in milliseconds. With ISO 42001 we demonstrate that innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand, delivering smarter, faster and safer collaboration experiences around the world."
Obtaining ISO 42001 adds to the SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications achieved by the company earlier this year, reinforcing a unified framework based on trust, intelligence and security. As Pleneo continues to develop its Room OS ecosystem, these standards cement a vision in which AI is not only powerful, but also ethical, private, and fully integrated.
