Latin America. USB. MADI has been designed by DirectOut in collaboration with RME, a German company that designs reliable and stable audio interfaces, recognized by audio professionals, with an unwavering focus on audio quality.
USB. MADI is a complete computer interface, reduced to an SFP (Small Formfactor Pluggable) module, making it the smallest multi-channel sound card in the world. It can be installed directly into any compatible MADI DirectOut SFP slot and connects via USB-C to Windows and Mac computers.
Based on RME's USB core, the USB. MADI offers 64 channels of I/O at a standard sample rate. RME's high-performance drivers for macOS and Windows ensure a low-latency interface between DirectOut devices and your favorite DAW software.
Driver-free operation is also possible thanks to Class Compliant (CC) firmware, making the interface instantly compatible with portable devices, such as the iPad, facilitating smooth audio production, both in a venue and on tour.
The use of USB. MADI allows access to both RME and DirectOut features, such as EARSTM (Enhanced Redundancy Automatic Switching), DirectOut's patented technology, which ensures continuous audio playback with automatic switching in the event of signal loss. A true solution in any critical application for shows, whether festivals or theatre productions. Also included is RME's TotalMixFX, which gives the user complete control over all computer I/O, including submixes with zero latency.
The USB module. MADI SFP is another example of the fruitful collaboration that DirectOut started with RME a few years ago with its USB module. IO. Both companies bring extensive experience that makes it an exciting addition to existing DirectOut solutions.
Luca Giaroli, Chief Strategy Officer at DirectOut, comments: "This new module demonstrates the mindset we have at DirectOut: to create solutions that not only improve a specific product, but also optimize workflows and interoperability across all our platforms, thus ensuring the benefit of all our customers. I can't wait to see what USB. MADI will enable across all verticals, and I'm pleased that we can once again rely on RME's expertise to deliver high-performance operation, resilience and undisputed audio quality." Matthias Carstens, Head of Development at RME, adds: "At RME, we have more than 30 years of experience in audio interfaces for computers. We are passionate about delivering reliable and indisputable audio performance to our users. The combination of our proven USB stack with DirectOut's modular platforms is the perfect match."
