Mexico. Vertiv announced the expansion of Vertiv Academy Latin America with the opening of a new training center in Mexico, focused on training professionals to develop the technical competencies necessary to maintain advanced power and cooling systems in high-density data centers.
The space replicates the operating environment and critical digital infrastructure of a data center, integrating power, cooling, thermal management, and monitoring solutions similar to those used in real facilities. This allows participants to gain hands-on experience on operation, maintenance, and incident resolution in a controlled, safe, and immersive environment.
Located in Mexico City, Vertiv Academy's headquarters combines hands-on experience with advanced solutions and a solid theoretical foundation to maximize learning outcomes. Local instructors have more than ten years of experience in the industry and are prepared to train professionals from Mexico and throughout Latin America in areas such as fluid management, maintenance practices, and installation of infrastructure systems. These experts, dedicated exclusively to training, have been trained in Vertiv factories globally.
"Strengthening technical capabilities in the region is a strategic priority for Vertiv," said Francisco Sales, director of services at Vertiv LATAM. "From a services perspective, developing specialized expertise in the field is critical to delivering consistent execution, more agile response times, and support throughout the lifecycle of increasingly complex digital infrastructures."
The training center has an area of approximately 150 m² and the capacity to offer more than 10,000 hours of specialized training per year. Vertiv Academy CDMX also has 20 simulators that allow participants to train in realistic and controlled technical scenarios, applying methodologies and solving situations that cannot be replicated in active data center environments due to operational and human variables.
These programs are aimed at customer service engineers, technical professionals in customer organizations, and end users, offering hands-on training focused on operational readiness and execution in the field.
"One of the main challenges we see is the gap between the speed of technology adoption and the readiness of talent to operate these environments securely," said Leonardo Barroso, senior regional manager of technical support, services, Vertiv. "Vertiv Academy provides an immersive and safe space where professionals can develop operational judgment, a comprehensive understanding of solutions, and the confidence needed to manage infrastructures that incorporate technologies such as AI and liquid cooling."
