Latin America. dBTechnologies has launched the VIO W12T, the most versatile multi-purpose tool for your travel case: a high-performance 12" coaxial active monitor developed to meet the changing technical needs of stage monitoring and distributed sound reinforcement across various scenarios.
Designed specifically to function as a wedge monitor, the W12T features a 12" / 1.3" neodymium coaxial transducer housed behind a 60° × 40° rotating horn, delivering 138 dB SPL (AES75). This configuration provides directional accuracy and point source consistency for highly intelligible performance in short-range areas and with precise control, while accommodating a variety of deployment scenarios using optional rigging hardware.
Its sleek design makes it ideal for applications with critical visibility, while offering the power and clarity needed to lead a large-scale mix.
The system is powered by a 1600 W RMS Class D amplifier operating on dBTechnologies' Digipro G4 16S4 platform, with 32-bit/96 kHz DSP offering linear phase FIR filtering, dual-stage limiting (peak, RMS, thermal), and real-time impedance monitoring. A set of selectable high-pass filters (60–120 Hz) allows for precise contextual tuning.
For remote control, monitoring, and integration, the W12T features native RDNet™ support via AuroraNet, plus a dedicated expansion slot for A2Net™ or Dante™ audio over IP networks.
Designed to withstand the rigors of professional use, the cabinet features a polyurea-coated wood cabinet, a sturdy powder-coated wraparound metal grille, and a recessed handle. Weighing just 22.5 kg (49 lb) and equipped with M10 suspension points, the W12T integrates seamlessly with VIO. W-Series accessories, including the new SA-WT pole mount adapter and U-bracket, for secure configurations, both hung and installed.
The VIO W12T delivers crisp, high-output monitoring with phase-coherent coaxial clarity and consistent VIO loudness, making it ideal for a wide range of performance styles in demanding live environments.
Its compact design, flexible mounting options, and DSP remote control also make it a powerful resource in auxiliary functions such as stage stands for off-stage performers or input mixes, choir fills in places of worship, side or utility vocal monitoring, voice reinforcement zones, and broadcast monitoring or camera stands. It is the most versatile tool in the kit.
The VIO W12T is now available globally through dBTechnologies authorized distributors, representatives and dealers.
