Club Med is an all-inclusive beach resort located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to which an interconnected audio ecosystem has been integrated.

The newly renovated Club Med Punta Cana Resort & Club required a complete professional audio solution for the entire resort, aligned with Club Med's global technical specifications and the brand's international standards.
The Musitempo team was selected to design, supply, integrate and implement the complete audio technology ecosystem, encompassing ambient music, high-impact entertainment spaces and live performance environments.
This project called for a hybrid audio architecture, combining distributed audio systems for guest common areas with high-power sound reinforcement systems for shows, events, and DJ entertainment, while maintaining centralized control, reliability, and ease of operation for resort staff.
Distributed Audio and Ambient Music
For common areas, restaurants, lounges, gyms, and outdoor spaces, we implemented a distributed audio solution optimized to deliver clarity, consistent coverage, and long-term reliability:
- JBL Professional Indoor and Outdoor Speakers (Control Series, Pendant Speakers, Compact Weatherproof Systems)
- AtlasIED coaxial speakers recessed in the ceiling for seamless architectural integration
- Dante-compatible LEA Professional amplifiers for power and distribution
- Zoning, scheduling, and user control managed by Q-SYS
This approach provided uniform sound coverage throughout the resort, while maintaining the aesthetic standards of a luxury hotel environment.
Design Challenges
Designing the audio system for a luxury resort with outdoor spaces required addressing several key challenges:
- High brand standards, required by Club Med's global technical specifications.
- Multiple types of spaces: outdoor, indoor, entertaining, entertainment, and lifestyle zones.
- Coastal and outdoor environments that require weather-resistant solutions.
- Need for a scalable networked audio system with unified monitoring and control.
- Coordination of multiple premium audio brands in a single ecosystem.
High-Power Sound Reinforcement Systems
Entertainment spaces, stages and performance halls were equipped with NEXO professional audio systems, which offer the power, clarity and dynamic headroom needed for live shows and special events:
- NEXO ePS8 and ePS12 point speakers.
- NEXO ELS600 and ELS18 installation subwoofers for extended low-frequency performance.
- NXAMP MK2 series amplifiers with Dante and AES capabilities.
These systems were designed to meet international touring standards, while remaining permanently installed and optimized for resort operations.
Control, Networking & Signal Management
The core of the system is a Q-SYS-based audio and control network, which ensures unified management across all zones:
- Q-SYS Core 24f as the main audio processing and control engine
- Q-SYS network switches for redundant and scalable audio networking
- Dante audio distribution for performance, DJ, and installed systems
- Wall controllers and iPad interfaces for intuitive personnel operation
This platform allows for real-time monitoring, flexible zoning, preset retrieval, and seamless integration between backdrop and show systems.
Performance, DJ & Live Production Systems
For live entertainment and DJ-centric environments, professional-grade production tools were integrated:
- Yamaha digital mixing consoles for control of live performances and shows
- Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3 systems for resident and guest DJs
- Shure digital wireless microphones, fitness headphones and RF distribution
- Dedicated monitoring systems, DJ headphones and performance accessories
These solutions ensure uniformity for international artists, while remaining accessible to in-house technical teams.
Results
The renovation of Club Med Punta Cana represents a milestone in the implementation of audiovisual systems for the hotel industry, which balances luxury design, technical performance and operational efficiency. By combining JBL, AtlasIED and NEXO speaker solutions, unified through the Q-SYS platform, we deliver a robust, future-proof audio system capable of supporting the resort's dynamic entertainment vision.
Despite the complexity and high expectations of the project, the final solution successfully met Club Med's international technical requirements, while improving the guest experience in all spaces of the resort. Technical milestones include:
