Mexico. In a context where universities face the challenge of adapting to new digital dynamics, hybrid learning models and accelerated technological evolution, Sony Professional is holding the eighth edition of the Education Summit 2026 in Guadalajara, Mexico, its annual meeting that brings together academic leaders from Latin America to discuss the future of higher education.
Held this year at ITESO – Jesuit University of Guadalajara, the Education Summit has established itself as an itinerant platform promoted by Sony Professional that, edition after edition, connects universities, specialists and decision-makers to share experiences, trends and strategies on educational transformation and technological innovation.
Under the slogan "Technology, innovation and change in higher education: new models for new professionals", the meeting will bring together representatives of academic institutions from Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala and Costa Rica for two days to discuss the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, hybrid learning ecosystems, educational audiovisual production and the new collaborative platforms that are transforming the teaching and learning dynamics. Likewise, there will be the participation of prominent manufacturers of educational technology such as Dante and Extron, who will present their most recent innovations designed to enhance educational quality in face-to-face, hybrid and virtual environments.
"At Sony, we believe that technological innovation should have a tangible impact on the way people learn, create and connect. Education Summit represents a platform to jointly build the future of higher education in Latin America together with institutions that are leading this transformation," said Kenichiro Hibi, president of Sony Latin America.
The Education Summit 2026 will feature the participation of more than 20 Latin American higher education institutions, including the Universidad de los Andes and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá and Cali (Colombia), the University of Lima (Peru), the Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO), Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), Universidad Anáhuac, Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara and Laureate Universities Mexico — UVM and UNITEC; Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja and Universidad Tecnológica Empresarial de Guayaquil (UTEG) (Ecuador); and Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and Universidad Estatal a Distancia (Costa Rica).
