Chile. At Lollapalooza Chile 2025, the 13th edition of one of the most emblematic and multitudinous festivals in the world, held in Santiago's Cerrillos Park, Sennheiser was present at this festival of American origin that takes its franchise to different countries.
Important international bands and solo artists gathered in Cerrillos Park, as well as Chilean music was represented with its main groups on stage.
Attendees were able to enjoy the imposing Great Wheel, which made it possible to admire the landscape of the city from above. In addition, a giant astronaut puppet was another of the visual attractions that accompanied the day.
In this edition, established international artists shone, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Rüfüs Du Sol, Justin Timberlake, Alanis Morissette, Tool and Shawn Mendes. Confirmed at the last minute, and with impressive presentations, Eladio Carrión and Claudio Narea stood out, who joined other renowned musicians such as Indios, Dante Spinetta, Elena Rose, L-Gante and Michael Kiwanuka.
"We are very happy with the feedback that the sound engineers have given us. This year we were able to coordinate frequency with SoundBase, and the truth is that it has worked super well in all scenarios and with constant communication so that everything is fluid," said Sebastián Álvarez, Sennheiser Latam Sales Manager.
In this line, Jazmín Serra, Trade Marketing Manager of Sennheiser Latam, said: "This year marked a special milestone: on the main stage, we implemented our new SPECTERA system for the first time, taking the excellence of live audio to another level. Together with the Digital 6000 Microphone Series, EW-DX and IEM 2000 Series Monitoring Systems, we achieve seamless integration to ensure the best sound quality in every performance."
Sennheiser, the century-old German firm, which in the 3 previous editions of the festival was the official microphone, presented Spectera, the world's first wireless and digital-bidirectional broadband ecosystem, which was launched on the market in September last year and was used by several of the artists and sound engineers who were part of the event.
Spectera greatly reduces wireless system complexity, while at the same time greatly increasing capacity, enabling time-saving workflows and offering full remote control and monitoring, including permanent spectrum detection.
Javier Liberón, Sound and Radio Frequency Technician, working for Olavarría Sonido, added: "We managed to coordinate more than 1000 simultaneous frequencies during the festival, thanks to the integration between SoundBase and Sennheiser's WSM software."
In addition, the innovation incorporates bidirectional bodypacks that manage digital IEM/IFB and mic/line signals at the same time. It is also resistant to RF fading and enables flexible use of the wideband RF channel, for example for digital IEMs with a latency of up to about 0.7 milliseconds.
"Spectera, which I met here, I think is a beautiful novelty, the audio quality is incredible, there is a very interesting evolution compared to other equipment. I recommend it to everyone because it is an incredible solution for the audio engineer," said Abel Zamudio, Dante Spinetta's sound engineer, who like other colleagues was able to test the new system at the event.
In addition to the demos and start-up of Spectera, Sennheiser supported the festival, engineers, artists and rental companies through technical support on its own products, becoming a key link for one of the most emblematic musical events of recent years worldwide to make thousands of spectators enjoy and dance.
