Latin America. Vari-Lite launched the VL3600 LT Profile IP. This long-range version of the popular VL3600 series luminaire offers the same colour mixing, powerful effects and outdoor weather rating as the existing luminaire, but with superior output in extremely tight zoom ranges.
"The VL3600 Profile IP is quickly becoming an industry standard in the world's largest tours, television events and theatrical productions," said Martin Palmer, director of marketing and product management for Vari-Lite at Signify.
He added that "Designers love the luminaire's output, colors, and feature set, but they want an option for longer-range applications. That's why we designed the VL3600 LT for key lighting at a distance, with an optimized long-range optical system and a zoom range of 3° to 42°."
The 1000W luminaire offers a set of features to suit the VL3600 profile, including the source, optics and colour mixing system, as well as the unique VL*FX animation wheel, patent-pending V*Track calibration system, IP65 weatherproof rating and more. This ensures that the luminaires can be used together without problems in a production.
"Solotech has already made the first purchase of VL3600 LT units, increasing the overall position of the VL3600 series luminaires by approximately 200 additional units," says John Flynn, Vice President of Operations at Solotech Live Productions. "These additional VL3600 and 3600 LT units are being shipped immediately at Solotech's global tours and events, and we are confident that more production with the VL3600 LT is expected in the coming months."
