Samsung recibe certificación ISO para su SmartThings

Latin America. Samsung announced that SmartThings, its global connected living platform, has received certification to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 international standard for information security management systems (ISMS).

ISO 27001, the world's leading standard for ISMS, was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certification provides companies with guidance to systematically manage information asset risks and achieve information protection objectives.

This certification is granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI), one of the world's leading standardization and certification organizations. To obtain it, a company must comply with the standards in a total of 123 detailed elements, including information security policies, access control to information assets, and incident response, among others.

"The importance of cloud technology and information protection is increasing in a rapidly changing business environment. We recognized that the operational capability and security level of Samsung SmartThings are excellent," said Harold Pradal, President of BSI Assurance Services.

With this certification, Samsung demonstrates that SmartThings Cloud information protection operates in accordance with international standards while providing integrated connected experiences. This official recognition will further increase trust and strengthen business competitiveness, not only with SmartThings users but also with partners.

"SmartThings' achievement of ISO 27001 certification is a result of our sustained focus on protecting information in a hyper-connected world with exponentially increasing intelligence. But this is just another step in our effort to strengthen the security of the platform. We will continue to find new ways to ensure that SmartThings' personalized services are delivered even more securely," said Seungbum Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of the Device Platform Center at Samsung Electronics.
