Multicines installs Christie projectors in new complexes

Multicines instala proyectores Christie en nuevos complejos

Ecuador. The Ecuadorian chain Multicines has opened two new cinema complexes in Quito and Guayaquil that have been equipped with Christie RGB laser projectors. The operation has been carried out through the CES+ integrator.

"Our new complexes are 100% equipped with Christie projectors because we believe that the technology and support they provide us is top-notch," explains Gonzalo López, CEO of Multicines, which is a long-standing customer of Christie.

The first of the two complexes to be inaugurated has been the Quicentro Shopping in Quito, which has 4266 square meters of construction and extends over two floors. It has six VIP cinemas with a capacity of approximately 50 seats each and a total capacity of 335 seats. The six screens of this new multiplex have been equipped with Christie CP2420-RGB and Christie CP2309-RGB projectors.

In addition to the total luxury experience, there is Dolby Atmos sound, premium reclining seats, wireless chargers for mobile devices, and a button system for personalized attention where attendees can receive their order of food or drink. In addition to the cinematic experience, Multicines Quicentro Shopping offers an interactive arcade area with a variety of electromechanical games, as well as a bowling area and restaurant.

The other complex recently opened by Multicines is located in the San Marino Shopping mall, in Guayaquil, and offers ten theaters with a total of 1019 seats, including VIP rooms and 4D immersive experience formats.

The largest room (which has a 14 x 7.56 metre screen) has been equipped with a Christie CP4425-RGB projector. The remaining nine rooms have been fitted with the Christie CP2420-RGB and Christie CP2309-RGB models. All of them incorporate CineLife+ electronics and RealLaser lighting technology.

"The truth is that the Christie brand has always been characterized by excellent quality in its equipment and for us that is a fundamental element in any decision," says Gonzalo López. "We are very happy with the projectors; Their performance and the low need for intervention they require help us to guarantee the continuity of the operation, in addition to providing an excellent quality of projection to our customers".

Regarding the RGB laser technology of the equipment, the CEO of Multicines says: "RGB laser projection offers spectacular levels of luminosity, which allows us to guarantee that the customer experience will be the best and deliver on the value promise we make to each of the people who visit us".

Gonzalo López does not want to fail to mention the level of support received by its suppliers: "CES+ has always been a partner that has accompanied and guided us in all the innovation and technological transformation processes we have had, and we are very happy to work with them. As for Christie, it is a brand with which we feel supported; The quality of its products and the quick response in case of incidents make it a very valuable strategic ally".

Diego López, Christie's Film Director for Latin America, concludes: "We are very honoured that Multicines has once again recognised the superiority and brilliance of our RGB laser projection systems for these new and advanced cinema complexes. And we are delighted to see how more and more exhibition companies in Latin America are choosing the Christie RealLaser technology available for all types of cinemas, from the smallest to the large-format screens for their new cinemas."
