Chile. The year 2024 has witnessed a remarkable dynamic in the Chilean audiovisual market. Francisco Villegas, general manager of Spevi de Chile, told AVI Latin America that after the post-pandemic period, they have witnessed a resurgence in the demand for solutions for the corporate environment, especially in medium to large meeting rooms, as well as for auditoriums.
"In addition, we have observed a growth in the adoption of technologies for monitoring and control rooms, along with digital signage, areas with ample potential for expansion in our country. On the other hand, this year has been marked by a certain degree of uncertainty, as is usual in election years. This uncertainty is enhanced by the negative performance of some large companies during the 2023 financial year, which encourages the search for spaces to reduce costs, something especially noticeable in sectors such as retail, higher education, telecommunications and health."
As for the segments demanding AV technology, according to Spevi's experience, the corporate sector, in particular, is constantly looking to improve the efficiency of its operations and enhance internal and external communication through innovative AV technologies.
"We have an optimistic projection for our company and the industry during the year 2024. We recognize that this year will present significant challenges in several aspects, especially in the specific segments in which we are involved. Despite these challenges, we project solid growth for our company, estimating an increase of around 5% compared to the previous year. According to our estimates, the industry in which we operate should reach a growth of more than 7% during the year 2024," he said.
Finally, in the field of sustainability, Spevi has implemented initiatives in response to the new Extended Producer Responsibility Law (EPR), prioritizing the responsible management of electronic waste and packaging. "These measures reflect a firm commitment to sustainability in all facets of business operations, recognizing both its legal and moral importance in building a more sustainable future," he concluded.
