Positive rebound of the AV industry expected in 2024

Juan Fernando Montoya, CEO de Ambientes Inteligentes

Colombia. During 2024, the audiovisual market has faced challenges that have slowed down negotiations compared to previous years. Despite the high number of designs and budgets submitted, business closures have been slower than expected, affected in part by economic and political instability.

Juan Fernando Montoya, CEO of Ambientes Inteligentes, indicated that the segments that lead the demand for AV technology in the region are corporate, entertainment and government. Recent examples of outstanding projects include the implementation of audiovisual systems in the Metropolitan Church of Medellín, the Medellín Metro System, MTS auditoriums and the Dirty Rabbit nightclub.

He added that the expectation is that the economic and political uncertainty facing Colombia poses challenges that could affect the normal development of business.

In terms of sustainability, he stressed that they work with suppliers/manufacturers who also support these initiatives. "Internally in the use of resources we are very insistent and maintain constant training for our staff, in addition to campaigns through our internal media, we are sure that these small individual actions in energy and water savings, as well as the most appropriate disposal of waste, are the tangible and initial points of a truly more sustainable world. Without these foundations where everyone contributes, the savings of the company as a whole are not as efficient. Now, we also support working from home for many personnel who can do it because of their work and we have very appropriate communication software so that this is enhanced, as well as reservation systems."
