Transform N, Barco's coding system

Latin America. Barco presented a new version of its Transform N system. The highlight of version 2.6 is the new high-performance encoder/decoder NGS-D200 video-to-data (V2D) that provides the best independent streaming content available. The NGS-D200 is capable of delivering graphics up to four megapixels over networks. To optimize performance, it also automatically provides the best possible image for the bandwidth available for each endpoint.

It is an information distribution system unlimited in capacity, it can distribute the content of an infinite number of sources to an infinite number of screens. Simply connect the source (road camera, sensors, computers, etc.) to the TransForm N encoder to input the video, images or data into the secure IP-based system.

The standard internet infrastructure will transport this information to where you need it, even to other parts of the world. At the destination, a set-top box makes the information ready for use on any screen, while service nodes can be added to the network for further processing.

Adding the NGS-D200 to TransForm N can dramatically expand the power and effectiveness of Barco's network display system. This third generation video-to-data (V2D) encoder/decoder sets a new standard in on-demand content delivery.

When it comes to capturing and streaming video and graphics, audio, in the highest quality over networks and requiring a dual DVI-I link capable of distributing video and graphics up to 4 million pixels at 30 fps, or 2 million pixels at full frame rate (60 fps) – the NGS-D200 is effective in any situation.

The codec (supporting 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 sampling) allows for pixel-accurate content replication and adaptive features: in other words, you can selectively add frames to maintain robustness and optimal image quality even in cases where bandwidth is limited.

The NGS-D200 is also designed to capture and transmit smooth pixel-perfect graphics as well as natural video. Acting as an encoder and decoder, the NGS-D200 can toggle between sending and receiving in real time with keyboard and mouse control. This means you can create a transparent sharing environment to facilitate communication and cohesion between global teams. The NGS-D200 is available in Pro Lite and Pro 3D versions, varying in resolution and 3D support. As a next step, Barco will soon launch the TransForm C-compliant NGS-D200, its innovative regulator and collaborative management system. Of course, the NGS-D200 is also available as a standalone codec.
