Chile. In this year's edition of the Chilean Telethon, Sennheiser once again provided much of the backbone of professional sound with Spectera as the main system, ensuring a clear, stable and interference-free transmission during the long and strenuous 27 hours of the program.
Thanks to this platform operating both at the Telethon Theater – the iconic space of the day – and at the Julio Martínez Prádanos National Stadium during the closing, the event achieved audio quality in line with the technical demands of a challenge of this magnitude.
The deployment included several components. At the Telethon Theatre, Spectera was used with 18 SEK bidirectional bodpacks with Headmic 4 microphones and DAD antennas, 24 EW-DX channels with EW-DX SKM handheld microphones (MMD 935 and MM 445 capsules), A 5000-CP and ADP UHF antennas, as well as the Digital 6000 system with two SKM 6000 handheld microphones (MMD 935 capsules).
For in-ear monitoring, 16 channels of the 2000 IEM Series were arranged with 32 EK 2000 IEM bodypacks, all coordinated using SoundBase software for accurate spectrum management. At the National Stadium, the strategy was replicated with a second Spectera system as the core, reinforced with 20 SEK bidirectional bodypacks, 4 Headmic 4, 8 D6000 channels, 16 EW-DX channels and an IEM set of 16 SR 2050 transmitters and 24 EK 2000 bodypack receivers, accompanied by multiple support antennas.
This technical set-up was key for the television coverage and live broadcast to run smoothly, especially in the return of the closure to the National Stadium after three years. The stability of the system allowed simultaneous performances, musical crossovers and continuous scene changes without signal loss.
The result was up to the cause: the Telethon far exceeded its goal, reaching $44,253,268,546 Chilean pesos, a figure announced during the early hours of Sunday morning after a day marked by music, emotion and massive participation. With this contribution, Sennheiser reaffirms its commitment to initiatives with a high social impact in the region, demonstrating that top-notch technology can make a difference in events of this scale.
Sennheiser stressed that "being part of that journey is always a reason for joy and a reminder of the impact that technology can have when it is put at the service of a cause with a strong social commitment."
