Brazil. Powersoft's Duecanali amplification platform forms the sonic basis for a wide range of shows and community events across the Sesc São Paulo network, with more than 100 Duecanali 1604 amplifiers installed in Brazil's most populous state.
The multi-site program has been led by designer and consultant Reinaldo Pargas, whose company, AVM Projetos e Consultoria em Tecnologia, has been collaborating with Sesc since 2003 on projects that harmonize the organization's strict technical standards with the real needs of touring artists and educators.
Founded in 1964, Sesc (Serviço Social do Comércio, Social Service of Commerce) is a private organization financed by the business sector of São Paulo to improve the quality of life of its employees and their families. As of 2025, it has 43 centers across the state that offer workers a variety of courses, exhibitions, concerts, dance performances, conferences, and other cultural and educational activities on a daily basis.
Since Sesc São Paulo began working with AVM Projetos, 14 new Sesc centers have been inaugurated, including Sesc Belenzinho, renowned for its experimental theater programming and large swimming pools, and Sesc 24 de Maio, located in the emblematic modernist environment of the former Mesbla department store.
Like all Duecanali amplifiers, the more than 100 units installed in these centers provide high-quality, distortion-free sound, with extremely low power consumption and heat dissipation, ideal for all types of events, from morning children's workshops to evening concerts and evening chats, often in the same location and even on the same day.
The Duecanali 1604 offers 800 W per channel at 4 or 8 Ω (1000 W at 2 Ω) in a compact form factor, or up to 2000 W at 4 Ω in bridge mode, giving designers the freedom to control both low-impedance loudspeakers and 70/100 V distribution lines, depending on the needs of each room.
AVM's DSP+D variant incorporates integrated processing and Dante/AES67 audio connectivity, allowing inputs to be routed directly over IP and tuned with Powersoft's ArmoníaPlus software without the need for an external DSP.
The Duecanali 1604 DSP+D's combination of compact size, high efficiency and low distortion has helped AVM and Sesc deliver consistent sound quality across different types of rooms, optimizing rack space and controlling heat and power consumption; an important consideration for venues with a complete and varied program seven days a week, explains Reinaldo Pargas.
"Every Sesc project starts with the same two requirements: to follow Sesc's technical guidelines to the letter and to make sure that artists have everything they need to offer the best possible experience to the audience. Powersoft's Duecanali 1604 DSP+D amplification platform has been key to meeting these high standards. The compact size, high power and low distortion levels of the amplifiers, as well as the ease of digital control using the ArmoníaPlus software and Dante connectivity, have contributed greatly to the success of these projects."
Sesc São Paulo's Powersoft equipment inventory is expected to expand as Sesc's network continues to grow. Sesc's new facilities in Marília and Parque Dom Pedro II (in the city of São Paulo) will open their doors in the next 18 months.
