Brazil. The Antônio Seabra Moggi Convention Center, located at the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES), in Rio de Janeiro, went through a visual modernization process led by Videomática, with the supply of Barco projectors by WWT.
The project consisted of a retrofit of the projection park, preserving the existing infrastructure, raising image quality, operational availability and, at the same time, reducing maintenance costs.
Barco solutions implemented:
• 6x G50-W6 projectors
• 1x G50-W8 Projector
Applications in space
7 projectors were installed in 3 modular multipurpose rooms and in 1 videoconference room with rear projection, which make up the convention center. These environments are used in strategic events, technical presentations, trainings and senior management meetings, all with high-performance audiovisual integration and support for videoconferencing.
Main challenges of the project
One of the main challenges of the project led by Videomática was to modernize the projection system without altering the existing infrastructure. To do this, it was necessary to adapt the fasteners to the new equipment, maintaining the original distances and dimensions of the screens, in addition to preserving wiring and integration with the automation system.
This strategy allowed for expressive gains in performance and usability, ensuring the continuity of operations with minimal unavailability of environments.
The choice of the G50-W6/W8 models occurred due to their compactness, variety of lenses, laser light source, phosphor with long durability and direct integration with Crestron. The installation required only adaptations to the supports and alignment adjustments, without the need for civil works.
- Laser technology, eliminating lamp changes.
- Compact and lightweight, with a wide range of variable zoom lenses.
- Phosphor laser light source with a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours.
- Simplified integration with Crestron automation systems.
- A partnership of trust between Petrobras and Barco, already consolidated.
Technical challenges overcome
It was necessary to adapt the supports for new perforations of the projectors, ensuring alignment and framing with the existing screens, without the need for civil works and preserving the other equipment in the environment.
Results achieved
- Expressive enhancement in image sharpness, brightness, contrast, and uniformity.
- Simplified maintenance and greater availability of environments.
- Reduction of operational costs, without the need to change lamps or consumables.
- Immediate recognition and praise from users for the improvements obtained.
"We thank WWT for their partnership and support in the procurement of the Barco projectors, crucial to the excellence of our project. Having a committed and reliable distributor is key to bringing high-level solutions to our customers," said Fernando Salztrager Benzecry, engineer at Videomática.
