Latin America. K-array announced a historic breakthrough in AV-over-IP integration. Through a simple software update, your entire line of Kommander amplifiers is now NDI compliant.
This makes K-array the first professional audio brand to natively integrate the Network Device Interface (NDI) protocol directly into its amplifiers. No external gateways, licenses, or additional hardware are required.
NDI is an IP-based, low-latency protocol, capable of transmitting synchronized audio, video, and metadata over standard networks. While its adoption is widespread in the video broadcast and live production industries, its expansion into the audio realm marks a strategic evolution, now driven by the adoption of K-array.
"Incorporating NDI into our amplifiers, at no cost to the user, demonstrates how our software-defined architecture is ready to adapt to any evolution of AV over IP," confirms Alessandro Tatini, CEO of K-array. It is a concrete example of how innovation generates real value for our customers.
With this update, K-array amplifiers now support native and bi-directional AV over IP workflows through its Linux-based Oskar operating system. Thousands of Kommander units already in operation can be NDI compliant via a free firmware update, ensuring state-of-the-art performance and zero additional costs for existing customers.
From broadcast control rooms and esports stadiums to luxury yachts and conference centers, K-array's sleek amplifier architecture now benefits from the power of a unified IP backbone, simplifying cabling, reducing infrastructure costs, and optimizing configuration for system integrators.
"K-array's commitment to native NDI integration represents a turning point for the audio industry," says Roberto Musso, Technical Director at NDI. "We have always envisioned NDI as a unified bridge for video and audio over IP networks. Seeing this vision materialized in K-array amplifiers, without compromises or additional hardware, ushers in a smarter, more efficient future for professional AV."
