International. Epson announced that its high-end laser projectors will play a key role in bringing to life the never-before-seen images of the ALIZÉ™ ("ALIZÉ") Cirque du Soleil in its European debut. The manufacturer is already an official partner of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
ALIZÉ is Cirque du Soleil's first residency in Europe. This avant-garde creation, which combines innovative artistry with dazzling projection, will premiere in November 2025 at Berlin's Theater am Potsdamer Platz and will be the first of many productions that will showcase the creative force of two leading companies in the entertainment sector that have teamed up to create something truly magical.
"By revolutionizing the boundaries of stage technology, as well as theatrical and scenic design, Cirque du Soleil has completely transformed the focus of what can be achieved in presenting shows around the world," said Matthew Nickel, Cirque du Soleil's director of creation and production. "In 2025, we will write a new chapter in our history by establishing our first residency in Europe, and Epson's vision is the best resource we can count on at such a momentous time for our company."
Cirque du Soleil Writes a New Chapter in Europe
Cirque du Soleil's 54th original production, ALIZÉ, tells a journey into the unknown and immerses audiences in a magical adventure that transcends the limits of imagination. The dazzling production will take audiences on a wonderful journey into a surreal world where the impossible becomes possible. ALIZÉ reinvents the boundaries of the visual experience by fusing Cirque du Soleil's creativity and mastery of stage design with the power of Epson's unique 3LCD laser projection technology, to create immersive images that blur the boundaries between reality and illusion.
"Cirque du Soleil ALIZÉ is a deep dive into a world of wonder and mystery that will see audiences witness the impossible become possible," said Martin Dignard, executive producer of ALIZÉ. "When developing a production that aims to deliver images that are very different from anything we've done so far, our team knew that relying on Epson's projection technology was the right solution to meet our creative goals."
When technology merges with creativity
In its search for new ways to expand storytelling and create unprecedented experiences, Cirque du Soleil has designated Epson as its official projector partner in 2024, tapping on the global leader in projection and print technology to help redefine the future of immersive entertainment. Cirque du Soleil ALIZÉ is today the first of many projects that bring together the savoir-fairer of these two entertainment powerhouses and will illuminate Cirque du Soleil's creative vision in innovative ways. Thus, both collaborators work closely on new initiatives that will cause amazement and admiration to audiences around the world.
"We are immensely proud of this collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and to be a part of bringing this monumental project to fruition," said Richard Miller, vice president of commercial marketing and services for Epson America, Inc. "The ALIZÉ production is the perfect canvas to showcase the potential of our projection technology, and this is just the beginning. Through our ongoing collaboration, Cirque du Soleil and Epson are positioned to redefine the art of storytelling and deliver unforgettable experiences to audiences in Berlin and around the world.
