LG Launches New Medical Diagnostic Monitor

LG lanza nuevo monitor de diagnóstico médico

Latin America. LG is accelerating its B2B medical device business, expanding its line of diagnostic monitors with the new 21HQ613D-B, which recently received authorization from the United States Food and Drug Administration for sale in the United States.

Intended for digital mammography and digital breast tomosynthesis, the 21HQ613D-B is a 21.3-inch, 5-megapixel (MP) IPS diagnostic monitor designed to deliver high-definition radiology images and maintains consistent image quality through its internal front calibration sensor and calibration software.

The 21HQ613D-B offers exceptional definition and brightness. Its LG IPS display offers a resolution of 2048 x 2560, a luminance of 1100 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1800:1.

The diagnostic monitor, suitable for reviewing various types of medical images, including breast MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds, features an internal front sensor that eliminates the need for an external calibration device.

With LG Calibration Studio medical software, users can conveniently perform DICOM calibration and quality control tests that meet international quality control standards for medical monitors.

The 21HQ613D-B also incorporates useful features to assist users in the thorough examination of medical images, such as Focus View mode. Controllable with a mouse or keyboard, Focus View mode allows users to focus on a specific part of an image, darkening the rest of the screen to highlight the selected area. In addition, the multi-resolution mode (5, 3 and 2 MP) allows you to quickly adjust the screen resolution to suit the type of image being viewed.

For a more productive and organized workspace, this diagnostic monitor supports daisy-chaining over the DisplayPort connection. An easy and efficient way to link monitors, daisy-chaining helps reduce desk clutter and simplifies cable management. LG's new 5MP diagnostic monitor also offers a comfortable user experience thanks to an ergonomic stand with adjustable tilt, height, swivel, and bidirectional pivot functionality.

The diagnostic monitor's five hotkeys enhance user comfort by providing a quick and easy way to adjust settings or switch between modes. Meanwhile, the presence sensor helps conserve power, automatically turning off the screen if no motion is detected for five minutes. The Down Light and Wall Light functions allow users to read documents when the room is dark or completely dark, the former illuminating the surface of the desk or table under the monitor and the latter projecting light onto the area behind it. For a better viewing experience, the Auto Luminance Sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen based on environmental conditions.

LG's expanded line of diagnostic monitors covers the main display needs of large hospitals. Along with the new 5MP model, the company offers 2MP and 3MP monitors (mainly used for reading radiological images) and 8MP and 12MP products equipped with PBP (Picture-by-picture) mode, which allows simultaneous review of multiple diagnostic images.
