Panasonic as a technology provider for the Olympic Games
For the first time, Panasonic signed an agreement with the Organizing Committee of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games to become a key supplier of audiovisual technology and video-mapping projection for the opening and closing ceremonies.

A wide range of audiovisual products was installed in the legendary Maracanã Stadium, home of the opening ceremony on August 5. Around 110 PT-DZ21K2 projectors with 20,000 lumens brightness and high image quality, as well as several AV-HS6000 model switchers for mixing "live" effects, ready to work with multiple television standards, were the fundamental tools to create spectacular scenarios for both television broadcasting and viewers at the Maracanã.

Panasonic was also awarded a contract to provide "Sports Presentation" services, the audiovisual content designed to motivate and entertain the public attending the sports venues. In addition, the company provides support solutions for sports judges, with video referee systems that help qualify swimming, canoeing and weightlifting competitions.

Presence in public spaces
The Japanese company has also obtained the rights to act as a sponsor of the fan areas, in which it has contributed with the installation of three large LED screens in the Olympic Parks of Deodoro and Barra, where visitors rest and observe the competitions that take place in the stadiums.

In the Copacabana area, right on the popular Sugar Loaf, is the Stadium of Wonders pavilion, where Panasonic presents the history of its Olympic collaboration through spectacular video content, Light ID augmented reality presentations, transparent screens and interactive screens, where it is also possible to enjoy the best athletic performances in 4K Ultra HD resolution. This pavilion functions as a meeting point to strengthen relations with the authorities of the Olympic Games and the companies that collaborate in the realization of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and Tokyo.

Through these technologies and audiovisual solutions, Panasonic works closely with the International Olympic Committee and other related bodies to support the operation of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the operation of the IBC.

Panasonic has signed a contract that extends its official collaboration with the IOC until 2024, so it will continue to support the realization of the Olympic Games, by sponsoring the latest in technology, products and systems. The company has also signed an official collaboration contract for the 2020 Paralympic Games and will support Paralympic athletes with initiatives that promote the dissemination of the sport. As always, Panasonic will contribute to the development of the Olympic movement, sharing the passion and excitement of the largest sporting event on the planet in which people from all over the world participate.
