Unified communications to raise labor productivity

Latin America. According to IDC projections, global unified communications will grow by 30% between 2015 and 2017, representing a market of US$27 trillion. This increase is due to the fact that organizations are betting on new work models that require greater flexibility to work outside the offices, communicate with colleagues who are in other countries, the attraction of the millennial generation, among other factors. 

Against this background, BroadSoft, Inc., and Bestel, launch to the Mexican market UCloud, a comprehensive messaging and unified communications platform from the cloud that includes VoIP, chat, video calls, presence monitoring, virtual rooms and mobility, with the aim that organizations have all the tools for job optimization.

Alejandra Ávila, Broadsoft's Go to Market Director for Latin America, explains that this solution was developed for companies that need to implement state-of-the-art technology that provides effective communication tools for remote or mobile workers. UCloud allows end users to access corporate communication services from any fixed or mobile device.

The platform that provides these cloud services for Mexican companies is hosted in Bestel's data centers, so it does not require direct maintenance by customers.

Regarding the capabilities of the solution, UCloud offers from the traditional functionalities of telephony, unified messaging, to a complete suite of Unified Communication services.

"When we talk about Unified Messaging, we refer to the fact that the end user does not need a fixed terminal to listen to the messages that have been left in their voicemail, using the UCloud platform, now the user will be able to receive an email with the notification of the missed call and attached a file type . WAV with the voice message," adds Ávila.

One of the main assets of this solution is "UC One Communicator" an intuitive and friendly application that can be downloaded on different devices – PC / MAC, Smartphones or tablets – of the user, allowing him to monitor the presence status of his contacts, establish instant messaging sessions (chat), audio / video calls, and point-to-point or multipoint collaboration.  

UC One Communicator, integrates a functionality known as "My Room", a virtual space that enables the user to have collaboration sessions with multiple participants simultaneously, My room allows attendees to join a conference bridge almost instantaneously, additionally provides the moderator with an activity controller that will allow him to mute, exclude or send private messages to people who are taking the call.

Broadsoft and Bestel make this technology available to companies with three types of packages - Line, Plus and Premium - which can be combined according to the particular needs of each one. This solution also integrates fixed terminals of the Polycom  brand of all ranges; therefore, the customer will not worry about the compatibility of their devices with the platform or operational issues such as technological obsolescence.
