Third meeting of the InfoComm Women's Network

Mexico. Currently, in the audiovisual industry the role of women is taking a little more strength than in previous years. Therefore, at the third meeting of the InfoComm Women's Network, thanks to the help of the invited exponents, the meaning of the phrase "Some leaders are born women" was emphasized, because they, thanks to their own dedication, effort and experience, became leaders of important projects which today have both national and international recognition.

Eng. Gabriela Gálan (Meyer Sound): spoke about how the sound reinforcement was planned and designed for the Papal visit held last February in the municipality of Ecatepec. His biggest challenge was to find the best coverage without so much "delay" so that the 300 thousand attendees heard the voice and music evenly. It was hard work that even led them to stay overnight on site a few days before the event. However, they had a good result that many, either live or by television broadcast, could enjoy.

Arq. Patricia Bernal (Grupo Ligthing): worked on the design of the stage lighting in the Theater of the City of Playa del Carmen, in which she contributed the benefits of LED technology which allowed the stage to enjoy the ease of changing tonalities as designated, as well as having a better consumption and savings with the use of them, demonstrating that the modernity of LED lighting equipment can be implemented in environments with color sencibility such as Playa del Carmen.

Eng. Viridiana Uribe (UICSA): She is the general director of her own company and was also in charge of executing the installation of luminaires for the BBVA Bancomer Corporate tower in Reforma, as well as achieving control of them via a Lutron system. He gained the trust of the lighting designers of the building, presenting a proposal with equipment different from that initially specified, emphasizing that this would improve the results of  energy saving and efficiency for the system, according to the requested standards.

To finish Eng. Eliuth Herrera (Kardia Producciones) carried out the round of questions, in which they were questioned about the necessary tools and challenges they had to work on during the development of each of their projects.

On the other hand, the theme of "Mentoring" was taken up by Mrs. Margarita Reyes (G4 Audio Video) who explained that an important part of the enrichment, both for men and women in the audiovisual medium, is to be able to count on someone who guides them and nourishes them with knowledge according to experiences in a feedback method so that young people who barely venture are supported and this leads to a better performance in their skills.
