Atlona has available HDMI extender over HDBaseT 4K and HDR

Latin America. The AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS transmitter and receiver kit, the latest extender in atlona's wide range of innovative and practical AV troubleshooting devices, is now available on the market.

The new cost-effective solution, ideal for residential and commercial applications, extends 4K/UHD HDMI signals in HDBaseT with support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats.

The HDR-EX-70-2PS extends 4K HDR by combining latency-free and visually lossless compression with the proven reliability and convenience of HDBaseT to deliver pristine image quality over distances that overcome the limitations of HDMI cabling. By carrying signals up to 4K/UHD at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 color sampling on CAT6a or CAT7 cables, this kit can extend a 1080p video up to 230 feet (70 meters), while 4K content with enhanced HDR can be uploaded up to 130 feet (40 meters).

The new extender supports all video resolutions, audio formats (including PCM plus Dolby® and DTS® formats), and color spaces covered by the HDMI 2.0a specification, which offers flexible support for new and emerging 4K/UHD video sources and displays. The solution, which can pass metadata through HDR content, supports standard 4K HDR10 at 60 Hz (4:2:0 color subsampling, 10-bit color) in addition to additional HDR variants. Additional key features include support for HDMI data indexes up to 18 Gbps and HDCP 2.2 compliance for transporting protected content.

The HDR-EX-70-2PS offers exceptional value for point-to-point AV requirements or as part of a larger 4K HDR routing and distribution system with the AT-HDR-H2H-44M matrix switch, also immediately available for sale. It's ideal for home theater applications that incorporate playback and display devices with enhanced HDR, and for retail TV showrooms and detail-intensive professional AV applications such as full-motion visualization and simulation.

"As consumers and professionals discover the impressive visual benefits that high dynamic range can offer, the demand for content with enhanced HDR and compatible equipment continues to accelerate," says Joshua Castro, chief product officer, Atlona. "The HDR-EX-70-2PS provides an affordable and reliable solution for hdr-enabled, high-quality HDMI extension in residential or commercial applications of any scale, and we are excited to put it in the hands of our partners and customers."

The HDR-EX-70-2PS is now available for sale and is backed by Atlona's award-winning 10-year limited warranty on the product and customer support services.
