Unified communication, an alternative for cost reduction

Mexico. According to the most recent report by the company Comstor, unified communication is the alternative for cost reduction in Mexican companies.

Agile and effective communication is everything for the company, regardless of the size and location of the employees involved in the process. Today, with the unfavorable economic scenario in most Latino markets, the interaction between all needs to be done at a more accessible cost and with a high level of quality.

To do this, the unification of communication enters the scene, a procedure that brings professionals from various sectors of the company between customers and suppliers, which helps reduce costs in transfers, lodging and time savings.

For this unification to have the satisfactory result, an investment in technological equipment is necessary, such as videoconferencing tools, image and audio screens, among other possibilities, depending on the real need of each company. To get an idea of the importance of this type of investment, according to research by the FGV, even without economic security, companies invested 7.6% of their accounts in 2016 in the increase of the IT sector.

At the time of planning, a detailed study is necessary to integrate all the necessary items so that the process does not have failures. In the end, the distances will be shortened by means of equipment and the best tools, and according to the interest of each company they must be listed by technology specialists.

It is clear that the area of agility will be fundamental for good communication as well as the saving of time results in an increase in productivity.

Solutions
There are several options on the market to unify communication in the company. The most common types used by companies are videoconferencing, audio conferencing, IP telephony, voice and data networks as well as radio communication.

There are other solutions that have the function of connecting and approximating employees for decision making. The technological advance is so great that today it is already possible to have Full HD image capture equipment with compression and decompression both in the sender and in the receiver. These devices offer transmissions with high quality, resulting in images and audios that resemble a face-to-face meeting.

It is worth remembering that there are hundreds of solutions on the market that can be adapted to the reality of each company. For example, depending on each need, video equipment is not always used, only voice equipment that solves most of the needs or for images that are not needed so sharp, the investment is lower in receivers and cameras. Therefore, it is best to check the service needs and provide all the details for the installation.

A practical example can be radio communication, as this is indicated for premises where the wiring is not optimal. The others are used in conjunction with the telephone network and once operating as the IP, along with the voice and data system, calls can be made at no cost between those involved. In environments with good broadband it is possible to make videoconferencing with enough sound and images.

Proceeds
Saving transfers, accommodation and time are the main benefits of the possibility of holding meetings and meetings virtually. Therefore, other factors that enter this list and that were pointed out by entrepreneurs who use these technologies, are also the reduction of stress of travel, transit, airport processes and procedures in hotels, in addition to the environmental issue: the fewer trips, the less emission of polluting gases.

In large centers, entrepreneurs who have to flee from chaotic traffic, these tools are also widely used, saving hours of work.

A report by Exame Magazine tells the experience of the company Metalfrio, which in three months of having videoconferencing equipment installed, saved between 50 and 60 air tickets, in addition to the expenses of executives in the trips between its units installed in Sao Paulo and Mato Groso del Sur (Brazil).
