Cinemas Procinal incorporates Vive Audio to its new multiplex

Colombia. Cinemas Procinal La Ceja is the first multiplex in Colombia to adopt the Christie Vive Audio sound system. This complex of four rooms is located in the Viva La Ceja shopping center of this city in the department of Antioquia that until now did not have any movie theater. The new multiplex has also equipped all its rooms with Christie Solaria projectors.

The recent inauguration of the Viva La Ceja shopping center was a small revolution in this municipality of 70,000 inhabitants where there had never been a shopping center or a movie theater. With an area of 16,000 square meters and 100 premises, Cejeños can now enjoy the dream of having everything they need in one place without having to travel to other surrounding municipalities.

The multiplex of Cinemas Procinal in La Ceja has four rooms with a total capacity of 663 spectators. Two of the cinemas have VibroSound technology, exclusive to Procinal, which allows the audience to enjoy movements in their chairs to make the film feel more real.

But for the viewer experience to be total, audio was a fundamental aspect. The company was then looking for the best sound solution and that was where Christie Vive Audio appeared: "After having studied the design, configuration and operation of Vive Audio we realized its capacity and quality, as well as the sound dimension that is achieved with this technology", explains Juan Carlos Mayungo, administrative and financial director of Cinemas Procinal.

He adds: "It is clear that behind the Vive Audio system there are countless hours of work and sound checks performed by Christie's team. And given the long history and reliability of our part in the projectors of the Christie brand, we decided to take a step forward and bet on their sound system for movie theaters." Cinemas Procinal is a long-standing customer of Christie. In fact, the company has more than half of its nearly 150 screens spread across the country with branded projectors.

Specifically, Cinemas Procinal has installed in its rooms in La Ceja the LS Series of Vive Audio in a 7.1 sound configuration, including LS1 screen channel speakers, LS1S surround speakers, S118 subwoofers, as well as a variety of class D CDA amplifiers. The end result is highly immersive cinema sound known for providing exceptional performance and power.

Christie Vive Audio's LS Series speakers incorporate planar ribbon driver technology, characterized by low distortion and excellent transient response. Its unique box design makes it easy to install and reduces labor costs, and the shallow depth of the speakers allows them to be mounted even in minimal spaces behind the screen. It is the best option for exhibitors looking to improve the sound of their rooms at a competitive price without sacrificing quality and reliability.

Patrick Artiaga, Business Development Director of Christie's Audio division, said: "We are honoured that Cinemas Procinal has implemented our revolutionary cinematic sound solution for its new multiplex. Christie Vive Audio's LS Series speakers facilitate economical access to high-end cinematic sound, ensuring seamless high-resolution audio reproduction and high dynamic range in line with DCI standards."

In addition to Christie Vive Audio, this new multiplex has also opted for DLP Cinema® technology projectors from the Christie Solaria Series to equip its four rooms. Thus, three of them have been equipped with Christie CP2220 projectors (22,000 lumens, 2K resolution upgradeable to 4K) and the rest with a Christie CP2215 (15,000 lumens, 2K resolution).

Cinemas Procinal La Ceja joins the already broad league of cinemas that offers complete Christie cinematic solutions that set new standards and deliver a superior cinematic experience. Diego López Villamil, general manager OF NOLA (North Latin America) of Christie, points out: "Cinemas Procinal is always at the forefront of new cinematographic technologies. The combination of Christie projectors with Vive Audio sound will make your La Ceja audience enjoy the ultimate cinema experience."

The truth is that the reception of the spectators with the recently released cinemas could not be better: "Customers are very satisfied with the new theaters and we are receiving very good comments," says Juan Carlos Mayungo, who also highlights Christie's good after-sales support in Colombia and the fact that the company has offices in the country.
