New Cloud Collaboration service for Pro Tools 12.5

Latin America. Avid announced that the highly anticipated Avid Cloud Collaboration for Pro Tools is now available, making it easy for musicians and audio professionals to compose, record, edit and mix projects from anywhere in the world, an essential principle of Avid Everywher.

Together with the Artist Community, an online community designed to foster creative connections and career opportunities, Pro Tools with Avid Cloud Collaboration connects artists and media professionals to a world-class community for collaborative music creation and audio production work. The fact that Pro Tools 12.5 is the fifth version of the software in less than a year shows the promise of offering more frequent innovations.

"Pro Tools 12.5 confirms Avid's commitment to delivering powerful workflows that connect artists, media professionals and their works in a much more collaborative and efficient way so they can focus on creating their best work," said Dana Ruzicka, vice president and chief product officer, Avid. "Avid Cloud Collaboration for Pro Tools will radically change the way people produce music and open up unprecedented new creative possibilities. We are excited to give our customers the opportunity to experience this revolutionary innovation."

Until this time we released Avid Cloud Collaboration for Pro Tools, we had never had an efficient way for artists and audio professionals to work together on the same project. Now, instead of wasting time manually handling the files that are required when using generic cloud storage, Avid Cloud Collaboration automatically synchronizes revisions and files in Pro Tools. Our customers can find and invite their contacts to collaborate from the app itself, or they can also discover new collaborators through the Avid Artist Community.

And then they can compose, record, edit and mix tracks collaboratively with other Pro Tools users, just as if they were working together in the same studio. In addition, the Artist Community allows clients to share and promote their work with top artists, musicians, producers, engineers, and other media professionals.

With the features of the new cloud collaboration, customers will be able to:

  • Create cloud projects and invite others to collaborate
  • Work on projects with others in real time or offline
  • Share audio and MIDI tracks, edits, mix changes, automation, and more
  • Communicate with your collaborators by chatting verbatim in a chat
  • Minimize cloud storage by up to 70%
