Video conferencing for businesses of all sizes

Colombia. The integration of audiovisual systems to create videoconferencing and telepresence rooms became a necessity for companies, as a way to communicate with their different headquarters or to interact with their customers anywhere and thus reduce the time and money used in trips and displacements, but responding with the required immediacy.

This solution was seen as a luxury that could only be given to companies with large budgets. Therefore, Segmento Activo, a Colombian integrator of video solutions, set out to go further and adapt videoconferencing and telepresence solutions to companies of any size.

Alejandro Restrepo, founder of the company seven years ago, explained that the solution it offers avoids having dedicated channels for conference rooms and with high definition image, optimizing the use of LAN and WAN networks. This means a reduction in the costs of installation and operation of the videoconferencing system. In addition, they offer options that allow a connection from any mobile device.

Another novelty in the Active Segment services is the integration of digital billboards to videoconferencing systems. In this way, the internal communications of the companies are favored since the messages can be transmitted live and guaranteeing that the employees will be able to see them immediately.

Alejandro Restrepo commented that his experience comes from the transmissions via streaming of assemblies of companies and congresses. "I've been streaming for several years. I participated in the first transmissions that were made in Colombia and today we have large clients such as Ecopetrol, ISA, ANDI, as well as a large number of small companies that rely on our services."
