Belden offers wiring for extreme conditions

Latin America. In the oil and gas related industry, it is vitally important to maintain fluid and efficient communication between the different sectors it covers. It's hard to imagine an environment that imposes harsher working conditions on active equipment than those found in this industry.

At one point the components will have to be tested against the destructive effects of extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, sludge, oil and solvents, not forgetting the conditions of ultraviolet radiation, electromagnetic interference and the ever-present danger of explosions and fires.

One of the central concerns in these industries is the reliability and continuous flow of signals in the presence of factors that can disrupt them, given that an enormous amount of information is generated in this industry, including data from spreadsheets, maps, daily drilling results, reports and tables; it is necessary that they are delivered reliably to devices and users throughout the system, and to process them requires a large bandwidth capacity of the Ethernet network.

This means that the physical components of the system must be robust, considering that if an Ethernet switch or cabling system fails in a mission-critical environment, the actual cost will be much higher than just replacing the components.
