Before the CEC, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, approved the standards, CEDIA and the California Smart Energy Coalition presented some sketches on the negative effects of these regulations, but the Commission introduced guidelines for the energy consumption of TVs sold in California.
CEDIA and the coalition believe that this regulation will harm the sale and installation of flat screens and businesses in the residential sector of electronic systems.
Utz Baldwin, CEO of CEDIA, explains that the decision not only affects the business of the Association's members, but also reduces their ability to provide solutions with improved energy efficiency to their customers.
CEDIA's director of public policy, Darren Reaman, said cec's actions will affect small businesses that employ thousands of people in the residential electronics sector and increase the unemployment rate in California.
