The end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 brought with them a series of innovations in audio and video that have captured the eyes of different industries such as hospitality, commercial and film. For the latter in particular, new products have been created in high definition that support the good quality of audio visual production. These new video cameras created by Sony (one handheld and one shoulder-mountable), offer interchangeable lenses, native progressive recording and flexibility in "hybrid" recording media, ideal for documentaries, electronic journalism applications, independent productions, music videos, direct current web transfers, and so on.
They are also equipped with 3 ClearVid CMOS Sensor™ system of type 1/3 "(0.85 cm), improved with Exmor™ technology, which provides a unique analog to digital conversion technique in parallel columns, with double noise cancellation, which produces high quality digital signals with very low dissonance. They also have the Enhanced Imaging Processor™ (EIP) system, which delivers high resolution, high sensitivity, wide dynamic range and excellent color rendering; also the cameras can perform significantly in low-light environments, with sensitivity of 1.5 lux.
The two new camcorders offer the option of hybrid recording when using the supplied in-memory recording unit.
