Mexico. Sustainability is no longer a trend but a strategic business imperative that reflects profound changes in the economy, society, and, above all, in the environment.
Adopting sustainable practices not only reduces operating costs through greater energy efficiency, less waste generation and better use of resources, but also strengthens business resilience in the face of crises and changes in the environment, which increases its attractiveness to investors.
Today, consumers, investors and partners are increasingly demanding transparency on environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact. Detailing these actions allows companies to generate greater transparency in their operation and strengthen customer trust. In addition, publicizing achievements in this area facilitates organizations' access to sustainable financing resources, as well as anticipating and being more agile in the face of various regulations, improving competitiveness, both locally and globally.
In this context, Siemens Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean presented for the second consecutive year its Sustainability Report, a document that details the achievements and progress of the corporate strategy in this area. Beyond highlighting the 2% reduction in scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions, this document highlights our efforts to seek a balance between economic growth and social and environmental responsibility, in order to boost the well-being of the company and the communities in which we operate.
At Siemens, we understand that collaboration is key to addressing ESG challenges, which is why we seek to maintain a close relationship with our strategic partners in order to co-create solutions adapted to today's business context. As a result, more than 90% of our technology portfolio enables clients to positively impact their sustainability goals.
Governance, ethics and compliance are fundamental pillars in this regard. We guide our conduct with values such as respect, honesty and responsibility, adjusting our operations to national and international standards, in all our commercial relations and with society.
In this sense, we value the training of our employees on the Business Conduct Guidelines. In 2024 alone, we reinforced this initiative with the training programs "Doing the Right Thing" (7,268 entries) and "Siemens Antitrust Essentials" (948 entries).
Resource efficiency is also a priority. We have recently implemented a sintering project for the manufacture of electrical components, reducing the consumption of materials and the generation of waste. Likewise, circularity-oriented waste management practices were maintained, with the aim of achieving zero waste in landfills by 2030.
In social impact, we promote personal and professional growth, through growth opportunities and digital educational tools. With the Siemens "My Growth" approach and various development programs, we provide equitable access to opportunities for knowledge updating and growth at work to more than 7,000 employees in the region.
The message is clear, sustainability-oriented organizations build a strong and trustworthy brand, which translates into customer loyalty and differentiation in the marketplace. At Siemens, our mission is to create purposeful technology to transform the daily lives of millions of people, with sustainability being a fundamental pillar to achieve this goal.
