Colombia. Sony , together with its partners Arista, Dante, Extron and Jabra GN, held in Bogotá the seventh edition of the only summit in Latin America dedicated to the education sector: Education Summit 2025.
The host universities were the Universidad de los Andes and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. For two intense days, Sony and its strategic partners opened the conversation on the latest technology trends and digital solutions for education. This year, the focus of the summit was to promote sustainability in the academic campuses that train future professionals.
Work and discussion tables were held where it was highlighted how and when to implement sustainability strategies, which set a precedent for more involvement in all areas of universities. Among the most relevant conclusions of these roundtables was that sustainability is no longer a passing trend but an evolving reality and therefore there is no turning back in the promotion of initiatives that optimize the use of natural, material and energy resources.
"We are very pleased to meet again to exchange knowledge about the advances in the academic world and its needs. The Latin American region is very important to Sony and we recognize that education is an essential pillar for the development of nations, so it is imperative to invest more in this great industry," said Kenichiro Hibi, president of Sony Latin America.

For its part, the Javeriana University demonstrated its robust and impeccable ATICO Building dedicated to audiovisual production that fosters the talent of young people who study careers related to communication and journalism. During both days, advice tents on photography and filming techniques were set up for students, as well as streaming forums where students attested to the technological advances that can propel them to a successful career path.
"Coming together under the axis of sustainability entails an enormous shared responsibility between technology companies and academic institutions, we celebrate the interest of all Latin American universities to allow us to be allies in continuous transformation to give students the best in an environment that evolves faster and faster," said Claudius Bezerra, marketing manager for Sony Professional Latin America.
