Epson joins Earth Hour 2024

Epson se une a la Hora del Planeta 2024

Latin America. Epson has been confirmed as the first international corporate partner of Earth Hour. Known for the "lights out" initiative, Earth Hour is a global environmental movement that seeks to raise awareness about nature loss and the climate crisis.

By becoming an international corporate partner of Earth Hour 2024, which will take place on March 23 at 8:30 p.m., Epson aims to inspire millions of people to join the movement and take energy-saving action for the benefit of the planet.

Earth Hour was initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2007 as an event aimed at showing our collective support for the planet through the symbolic action of turning off the lights for one hour around the world at the end of March each year. Since then, it has grown to become the world's largest grassroots environmental movement, inspiring people in more than 190 countries and regions to take action for our shared home.

In 2023, Earth Hour achieved more than 410,000 hours committed to its "Bank of Hours," an online accountant that tracks positive actions for our planet.

For Earth Hour 2024, Epson and Earth Hour are encouraging people to take simple steps to save energy, which can be recorded in the global Hour Bank. The Hour Bank is easily accessible through the Epson and Earth Hour websites.

Epson is mobilising its global network of sales companies to help raise awareness of these simple energy-saving actions, which are available in more than 26 languages in their respective countries and regions. Also on Earth Hour Day on 23 March, Epson will act as a key partner in Earth Hour events at Wisma Atria Mall in Singapore and LalaPort Toyosu in Tokyo, Japan.

Epson has committed to becoming carbon negative and eliminating the use of non-renewable subsurface resources in its Environmental Vision 2050. To achieve this goal, the company is implementing a number of initiatives, including transitioning to 100% renewable energy sources at all Group facilities globally by the end of 2023. Epson is also dedicated to developing products and services that consume less electricity and reduce environmental burden.

Epson and Earth Hour encourage everyone to take simple steps to save energy every day. Join us on March 23 at 8:30 p.m. to donate an hour for Earth – save energy with just one simple change!
