Samsung is committed to facilitating the connected and smart home

Colombia. The concept of smart home is becoming more and more tangible for Colombians. With the passage of time, the devices and appliances used in the home have greater options to complement and facilitate people's day-to-day lives.

That is why Samsung is betting on the generation of connectivity ecosystems in homes through its products and the SmartThings application.

A smart home makes it possible to simplify tasks and control them. With programmable automations, you can turn on the lights in the house from the car, turn on the air conditioning before you arrive, or set the stage for a movie night from your cell phone. Samsung's connected experience, powered by SmartThings, ushers in a new era of connectivity between devices and users.

"Samsung is committed to creating innovations that challenge barriers, impacting people's lives. As a company we have a wide ecosystem of products that point to a more connected world, so with our SmartThings application we seek to integrate and simplify the operation of a wide range of devices, managing to centralize and customize their control, generating a unique user experience," explains Johan Pinzón, Marketing Director of Samsung Colombia.

SmartThings is a Samsung application that allows you to connect and control smart devices, such as refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, robot vacuum cleaners, lights, cameras, among others, from more than 400 brands available on the market.

This connectivity between devices helps create a personalized smart home, which adapts to each user's lifestyle and needs. For example, routines can be automated (when you wake up the TV turns on, at night turn on the lights and close the curtains, etc.), monitor the status of devices, receive notifications and solutions to possible problems, such as overheating in the home or unnecessary energy expenses; and enjoy more complete experiences with the devices, such as changing the lights in your home to give it a special atmosphere or controlling video and sound equipment from anywhere.

All of this can be easily done from the palm of your hand. The SmartThings app is accessed from your Samsung smartphone, tablet or watch to control devices from inside or outside the home.

Make your day-to-day life easier
With SmartThings you can set the lights in your home, if you have left a light on, simply turn it off with a tap on the cell phone screen. Or, if the event warrants it and you want to create a special atmosphere, synchronize the TV to play music and images in an integrated way with the towers or soundbars; Now, if you're a gaming lover, with SmartThings you can pair Smart Monitors (M5 & M8) and lighting systems, such as the Phillips Hue, to create more immersive experiences.

And if, in addition to controlling devices remotely, saving and caring for the environment is relevant, with SmartThings Energy you can monitor the energy use of your appliances and monitor devices to control the cost of your electricity bill. To save more, you can activate AI Energy Mode and manage energy consumption, this system is integrated into the latest Samsung products and allows you to monitor, control and save energy, using SmartThings. For example, the sensors in Neo QLED or The Frame TVs optimize brightness and adjust it as needed, improving the viewing experience and saving energy at the same time.

These functionalities are also available through the Family Hub™, which allows you to instantly link smart equipment and IoT devices for maximum control of the home through the fridge display with SmartThings. Additionally, this fridge, and the other Samsung references that connect via SmartThings, can generate alerts on your cell phone in case you mistakenly leave the door of the device open.
