Call for Go Green from Schneider Electric begins

Go Green Schneider Electric

Latin America. Schneider Electric opened the call for Go Green, the competition in which young people can apply for disruptive ideas that can have a great impact on society.

To participate, they must propose a project that offers an innovative and sustainable solution to a particular need or problem. Faced with this, the organization is in search of the best initiatives, which in addition to guaranteeing equitable access to energy, allow better use of it and its resources. This is if we take into account that it is a factor that guarantees a better future and the consolidation of an environment with a high sustainability component.

Go Green becomes a great opportunity to generate ideas with which the world can be transformed. It is also an initiative that, in addition to offering important prizes, becomes a platform that offers important alternatives for personal and professional projection. Selected students will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to Schneider Electric's key leaders, receive mentorship from experts and professionals, and access a dedicated career portal for competition participants.

How to participate in Go Green?
Go Green is an initiative in which undergraduate, postgraduate or master's students from all over the world can participate. As a requirement, those interested must be advancing their academic process in areas related to business, administration, engineering, marketing and innovation.

For the 2023 edition, young people who have developed projects and ideas for Circularity and Energy Efficiency for buildings are being invited. This, understanding that they are axes on which the proposed goals for zero net transformation can be achieved.

"Today, buildings generate about 30% of total CO2 emissions. A reality on which it is necessary to take effective and timely measures to minimize the impact of these on the environment. This is how we invite young talents to participate with an idea that generates a differential in the structure, its processes and a positive impact on people. It's how they can contribute to the development of a more sustainable industry," said Patricia Lombardi, South America Building Segment Leader at Schneider Electric.

The application process is fairly straightforward. Those interested in participating can register through https://gogreen.se.com/es, where they must follow the steps to submit their proposals. The organization of the contest has already opened the call process, which will close on June 9 of this year.

At the end of this stage, the evaluation committee will begin a process of evaluation of all projects, from which the best will be selected. These will go through a mentoring process, which will last until mid-July, at which time the finalists from South America will be announced. They will have the option to participate in the final phase of the contest, where they will be competing with the most outstanding ideas of participants from other South American countries.

The group that finishes first in South America will be considered one of the global winners of the competition, along with the winning groups from 6 other regions where Schneider Electric is present: Middle East and Africa, North America, India, East Asia and Japan, Pacific and Europe.

The prizes for the best projects in South America are:
- 1st Place: Travel to one of Schneider Electric's global headquarters. There they will have the opportunity to meet the winners from other regions and share an agenda of activities.
- 2nd Place: € 2.000
- 3rd Place: € 1.000

In the 2020 edition of Go Green, the winners were the Colombians Angie Redondo and Jorge Polo, who participated with a sustainable fishing project that benefits the community of Bojayá. It consists of an innovative energy access solution, which has as its axis a cold chain system powered by solar and biomass energy to store and help distribute local products. Today both work at Schneider Electric.
