21% growth expected in smarthome market

Colombia. According to the study conducted by EMR, the size of the Latin American smart home market reached a value of USD 3.4 billion in 2021 and is projected to grow at an annual rate of 14.1% from 2023 to 2028.

Although currently in LATAM, Chile is the most advanced and updated country in smart home, due to its explosion of purchases of consumer devices during the period 2020-2021, when the pandemic began, and therefore people acquired a greater number of technological devices to be able to work from their homes in the best way, In addition to facilitators such as smart TVs, robot vacuum cleaners and security cameras.

Colombia is a country that has been growing exponentially in the use of this type of devices in the home, currently the percentage of occupation of these devices in Colombian homes is 13.74% and it is expected that by 2025 the percentage will be 21%, a growth projection of 7 percentage points.

Felipe Hernández, Product Manager of EZVIZ Colombia, highlights the current trends and projections that LATAM has for next year the smarthome sector, which is undoubtedly a market that has come to positively impact Colombian households.

● It is estimated that there are currently 131 million smart speakers in homes, a figure that could rise to 300 million over the next four years, growing by 128%.
● Increased purchase of devices such as large and small smart appliances (120%) and (115%) respectively, smoke detectors (117%), home security cameras (111%), and hubs (33%).
● The people who buy these products the most are men between 25 and 45 years old, although, the percentage of purchase in women from 20 to 35 years old has been growing, thanks to the growing number of pet lovers.

Undoubtedly, the smarthome sector offers a whole range of possibilities ranging from net home security, to making people's lives easier through products such as smart locks, which would prevent the loss of keys or the smart peephole that allows you to see who visits the home from the comfort of the bedroom.
