Epson incorporates XGA resolution in projector portfolio

Epson, proyectoresLatin America. Epson incorporated the XGA Extended Graphics Array resolution into its new portfolio of video projectors. This represents the next step with 1024 by 768 pixels, and a leap to models with better features and resolutions focused on providing the different segments of the entertainment, education, corporate, SMEs, business and hospitality industry with the use of this equipment in an unparalleled way.

"Imposing a trend by adjusting to the reality of the most developed regions is part of our daily work. With the XGA resolution we want to provide new experiences loaded with quality images, brightness power (lumens) and connectivity, and best of all, without affecting the pocket of our consumers, "says José Luis Rodríguez, Senior Manager of Video Projectors for Epson Colombia.

Epson's video projector portfolio has approximately almost 60 models, of different specifications and resolutions. The company's big bet is to incorporate in the XGA input models, without neglecting those that already have the native resolution SVGA Super Video Graphics Array (Super Graphic Matrix of Video in Spanish). This means that if a consumer wants to project something in SVGA they can do it, but if they are looking for an improvement in range and quality they can make the leap to a better resolution.

Resolution and projectors
Each projector is designed to display a specific resolution, which is the "native resolution" of the projector. It is possible to send signals of lower or higher resolution to a projector; in which cases, the image is usually elongated or compressed to adjust the input signal with the projector's native resolution. The image is considered "out of phase" when this is done, and can cause text and fine details to look out of focus. In addition, with certain backgrounds visual "static" can be produced.

SVGA versus XGA
Having the same screen size and projected image, an XGA projector receives and projects a native resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels that will look sharper than an SVGA projector receiving and generating a native resolution image of 800 by 600 pixels.

José Luis Rodríguez concludes by pointing out that the world market has been adopting models with better features and resolutions. That is why "Epson aims to bring these novelties to the Colombian market, highlighting the importance of investment in technology to continue evolving."
