Brazil. Grupo Discabos celebrated its 26th anniversary live on October 18, full of news and awards. Two of these surprises were related to the field of automation, thus introducing the new Eelectron brand and becoming the official KNX training center in Brazil.
KNX is a universal automation protocol, hence the importance of having an official KNX training certificate. KNX systems apply to both corporate and residential installations.
There are several brands that manufacture products that support this protocol. Some of the main advantages of the KNX protocol are:

- The programming of equipment in the system is always done through a single software, called ETS, regardless of the make and model of equipment in use;
- Something important to mention is that although you use ETS for all products, some computers may offer more features than others in their database. Thus, for example, a keyboard sensor of a certain brand can have a higher price, not only for its design, durability and reliability, but also for the functions that appear in the ETS when programming, usually the equipment that costs a little more, usually offers a wider range of functions.
At KNX, in addition to power supplies, sensors and actuators, there are also system modules. They are gateway modules for integration with systems that are part of other protocol universes.
There are also programming modules that are also considered system modules and serve solely and exclusively to bridge the KNX devices and the computer where the ETS software is installed. These programming modules communicate with the computer via the USB port or the RED port.
KNX ETS software allows you to design, document and diagnose a KNX installation, something that a trained professional certified by the official KNX training can do very simply.
It is mandatory to program any type of KNX installation, but it is not necessary for daily use. Use this tool to program everything and get the system up and running. Subsequently, you no longer need to have the software active, since the KNX system does not depend on a server or automation center, and the devices exchange data with each other, directly through the wired BUS line or via wireless network.
The KNX protocol can be translated as a universal automation language, where different equipment of different brands can communicate, this brings a wide range of opportunities and applications in projects in the area.
