Projection and virtual reality for exhibition on Davinci

Colombia. On September 25, the exhibition that recalls the work of Leonardo da Vinci began in Bogotá, which has toured different countries in Latin America with the help of the energy company Enel. In Colombia, the person in charge of the audiovisual technical production, as well as its operation, is Eleven Producciones.

AVI LATINOAMÉRICA had the opportunity to visit the exhibition and learn first-hand all the technical details of this installation, which includes projection, virtual reality, sound and lighting, made in a particular setting, the church of a school in Bogotá.

Andrés Vásquez, vice president of events of Eleven productions, said that this is an exhibition was created by the Italian group Crossmedia, which has taken it around the world, so it has already established technical requirements and standards. The agency Eventos Efectivos, which is in charge of the entire sample in Colombia, was in charge of contacting them to carry out this production.

The exhibition is divided into three rooms. The first has a sample of the replicas of the machines that Leonardo da Vinci designed, for which an LED lighting system was installed. The second is the immersive area, which has projection space 45 meters wide by 6 high.

Andrés Vásquez stressed that in this area a loop of 36 minutes in full HD is projected, which covers the entire history of Leonardo da Vinci, his paintings, sculptures, machines, studies on the body, among others. For this space, 12 laser projectors of 6 thousand lumens were used, 8 focused on the sides and 4 on the floor, where images are also projected. Each projector has a digital signage player for its operation. In addition, it has Meyersound sound.

The third area is virtual reality, which is located on the altar of the church. It has 8 virtual reality headsets that provide an interactive experience as well as 4 55-inch monitors that run through the different paintings of Leonardo da Vinci and a projection surface.

The representative of Eleven Producciones stressed that one of the challenges of this installation was to find the space, both for the technical requirements and for the time available for the exhibition. In addition, the church did not have the anchor points for the installation on the roof of the AV equipment, which they had to perform.

The Da Vinci Experience exhibition has already passed through Lima, Santiago and then Bogotá will continue its journey in the region in Sao Paulo. In Bogotá the assistance is free and in its first month it received more than 30 thousand people. It will be open until November 7.
