Christie illuminated comic con's RGB laser display

Brazil. The Christie CP42LH cinema projector was used at the Comic Con Experience 2018 (CCXP) fair, the largest pop culture event on the planet, which took place last weekend in São Paulo, Brazil, to bring to life the largest RGB laser projection in Latin America.

The giant screen was 25 meters wide by 10 meters high and was located in a space outside the São Paulo Convention and Exhibition Center, where the event took place. The screen was used to watch the live stream of the show, as well as to showcase promotional videos and interviews.

"A festival that welcomes the biggest entertainment brands in the world and the big names in the industry needs a projection that is up to the task. Having Christie as a partner gives us absolute certainty that quality will be guaranteed in that aspect," said Erico Borgo, Chief Geek Officer of Omelete Company, the company that organizes the event together with Chiaroscuro Studios and PiziiToys.

The CP42LH RGB laser projector that was used to illuminate this screen features 3DLP technology, 4K resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels) and 60,000 lumens. It is a colorful and ultra-bright solution for large screens that produces a color spectrum that goes beyond the DCI P3 color space and matches the Rec. 2020.

To boost the contents, the Christie Spyder X80 was used, the multi-window and multi-screen video processor and manager, winner of the award for Best Rental/Entertainment Product for Live Events of InfoComm 2017.

The sound of this screen was reproduced with Christie Vive Audio, Christie's product line designed and manufactured expressly for the cinematographic environment. This system offers an extraordinarily precise sound experience, maximizes the dynamic range of DCI digital cinema audio and is compatible with leading formats such as Dolby Atmos or 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound.

Christie's role as a CCXP 2018 partner didn't end there. A 13,000 lumens AV pro projector from the brand and Vive Audio speakers and amplifiers was used for the screening of a short film commemorating the 80th anniversary of the creation of the superman character on an 8x4 screen.

In another space of the event, an orchestra performed live some of the most famous soundtracks in the history of cinema. Christie's 13,000-lumen AV Pro team projected scenes from these films onto a 10x5 screen.

The integration of all Christie systems that were used in CCXP 2018 was carried out by the Brazilian company Ponto Midia, a specialist in the installation of projection systems for large events.
