Latin America. Mirage SST is Christie's new high-performance RGB laser projection solution with Christie TruLife electronics. With an ultra-compact projection head and fiber coupling, the Mirage SST is the ideal solution for applications of high level of demand and complexity, such as those of amusement parks, dome cinemas or planetariums.
With only 50 kilos of weight and a small form factor, the Mirage SST projection head makes it possible to install it where space limitations previously constituted a barrier. The remote light source allows the cooling equipment to be kept away from the projection head, thus saving space and minimizing the noise perceptible by the public.
The TruLife electronics incorporated into the Mirage SST are reflected in a 4K resolution at 120fps, or, with optional license, 2K resolution at 480fps. Its high image speed eliminates the effects of blurring and lag and instability in the image, something fundamental to offer the public immersive experiences. But in addition, the Mirage SST achieves an ultra-realistic experience by exceeding 90% of the Rec color space. 2020 and possess a 5000:1 on/off contrast ratio with ultra-high contrast lenses. Its rich and highly saturated color palette also makes a more natural color reproduction possible.
As Mike Garrido, Christie's senior product manager, explained, "The Mirage SST joins the recently launched D4K40-RGB in Christie's catalog of RGB laser projectors. The Mirage SST brings flexibility to the system design and incredible image fidelity. In my opinion, the result puts us squarely in the next generation of immersive and spectacular visual experiences."
The Christie Mirage SST can be installed in single-projector or multi-projector configurations. It is compatible with Christie Mystique Install, which simplifies the design, installation and maintenance of multi-projection matrices, and with Christie Guardian, which offers automated, invisible and real-time image fusion correction, and without interrupting the projection of content.
The Christie Mirage SST will be available in the first quarter of 2019, with a three-year warranty for spare parts and labor.
