Lollapalooza Festival was amplified by Powersoft

Argentina. The American festival Lollapalooza has versions in six different countries that bear his name. One of them, for four years, is  Argentina where the renowned provider of technical services and equipment of sound, lighting, video and stages Buenos Aires Live Show (BALS) was present providing general technical production once again in the 2017 edition.

For the two main stages of the event (Stage 1 and 2), BALS amplified different sound systems with Powersoft K Series models.

Stage 1 featured a J-Series PA system from d&b audiotechnik, with 36 All Access MTL 221 subwoofers, the latter powered by 20 Powersoft K10 amplifiers. On this stage, renowned artists such as Metallica, The Strokes, Duran Duran and current electronic music figures, such as Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens, among many others, were presented before a total audience of 200,000 people.

Already in Scenario 2, there were 12 JBL VT 4889-1 delay cabinets with six Powersoft K10 and two K8 amplifiers, six JBLVT4889-1 side fill cabinets with three Powersoft K10 amplifiers and one K8, and six JBL VT4889 frontfill cabinets with three Powersoft K10 amplifiers and one K8.

For the control, consoles from DiGiCo, Avid, Yamaha and Midas were used, according to the requirement of the engineers of each band.

BALS adopted the Powersoft brand as an amplification platform for the Vertec system approximately 10 years ago and, from the company, they declare that they have always obtained the same response, "because it is a versatile, reliable, electrically stable amplifier, it takes up little space, sounds good and allows working with circuits of several components per channel (up to 2 ohms without inconveniences) which in large volumes of equipment allows to save space and consumption".

"The volume of work we have at BALS leads to recreating situations similar to that of Lollapalooza quite often and the response with Powersoft amplifiers is always good. In fact, some weekends later, we were also at the Maximus Festival using 44 K10 and eight K8 amplifiers, and we got very good results, with 10 metal bands in almost 10 hours of uninterrupted intensive use, without any problem, "explained the technicians of the company.

It is worth mentioning the support of Equaphon, Powersoft distributor in Argentina and Uruguay, during the production of this event, "always giving support for all types of products and answering the phone at all times. Something that for those who spend all our time working is invaluable," said one of the BALS technicians, Hernán Nupieri, in charge of Stage 1.
