Home automation, strategic focus of the Brazilian AV fair

Brazil. Home automation is gaining more fans and different solutions have become popular in Brazil. As a definition, home automation can be understood as the integration of automated devices to provide more comfort, technology, economy and security to residents. And that is what TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, the main fair held in Brazil in the industry of integrated professional audio, video and lighting systems, will demonstrate at Sao Paulo Expo in May.

"A recent survey conducted by InfoComm, showed that the growth of the home theater market remains the main segment of home automation. It is driven by the middle class, which also shows an increase in the main countries of Latin America. With greater purchasing power, these families are equipping their homes with more technology. There is still a growing high-end market, because the most privileged layer of the population invests in security and more complex automation for their homes," said Víctor Alarcón, director of the TecnoMultimedia InfoComm project.

The concept of home automation is changing, because they are within the reach of people with new and different possibilities. This means that there are simpler and also more complex systems, which involve integration over many environments, not only in the living room of a house, for example.

According to a survey conducted by the Brazilian Association of Residential Automation (Aureside), about two million Brazilian households already have the possibility of using automated systems, but the number does not reach 20% of the total. In the country, the number of companies supplying manufacturing solutions, as well as home automation services, has tripled in less than five years. Although this is a considerable growth, the childhood of this market is still lived in the country and this is natural in emerging markets. Aureside will have a strategic discussion forum during the event.
