We are everywhere

It is a pleasure to write this editorial knowing that I obtain from you the AVI professionals to respond to my concerns or support my postulates.

This time it is very pleasant to say that the AVI industry is everywhere, in supermarkets, restaurants, churches, shopping centers, among others.

In recent weeks I have had the opportunity to visit different places in Medellín, Colombia, and I am pleasantly surprised by the wide implementation that is being made of audio, video and lighting equipment. It is not uncommon that in the United States we find digital signage in shopping centers or food places, but I am surprised by the great heyday I found in this city.

With telling them that even in the churches they are already using signaling systems to announce the masses and so that those who can not see the priest during the ceremony can visualize him on the screens, they also use high-end and invisible speakers and acoustic adaptations so as not to disturb their neighbors.

Also the shopping centers are managing signage screens in the common spaces and although they still have few announcements I think that in a few months the situation will change.

Also in several fast food restaurants they are using the screens to announce prices, promotions and their products and, last but not least, is the implementation of lighting in large events such as the Colombiamoda fashion shows, a fair for designers and those who work with the fashion sector, which took place in Medellín the last week of July.

All this fills me with satisfaction because I know that we are within a growing industry that we have seen grow over these four years, and that we know will continue to develop.

Remember to write to me [email protected] and tell me your position vis-à-vis the industry in Latin America.
