Colombia. One of the first buildings in the Colombian capital to have lighting on its façade was the Colpatria Tower, the tallest building in the country. Today it continues to make a difference by renewing its lighting with the latest technology.
The first phase of the new lighting system, made up of Philips LED lights, was inaugurated on December 7 after an investment of more than one million dollars and a design based on ColorKinetics technology.
In total, 817 Icolor Flex flexible strips of high-intensity RGB LED nodes will be installed, which required a special concept in design and an adequate technical specification that allows the building to show a different face and give visitors a light show that is not seen anywhere else in the country.
With the effects created you can see different images projected on the façade, which will be appreciated from many points generating a high impact for the city. As a novelty, in the lighting of the tower they observe two types of resolution: a more saturated one -in the upper part- that allows to pass images with greater detail and one with less saturation, which will complement the effects and images that were conceived from the beginning of the project.
The total lighting installed is composed of 40,650 nodes each with an independent direction that allows to pass infinity of effects and color, each node generates its own light power in full color. This new lighting concept will allow the tower to pass large-format images over the four faces.
