Colombia. Since 2007 the company Penn Elcom is in the Colombian market with three lines of services for the AV industry, which include transport boxes, cables and connectors of professional audio and aluminum structures. Its manager, Luis Montalvan, spoke to AVI Latin America about the company.
After the acceptance in the Colombian market during the first years, in July 2012 they were established with offices and their own warehouse which are located in Bogotá.
He explained that the segments they serve are aimed at companies assembling transport boxes (Racks) for all types of audio, sound, lighting, medical equipment, musical instruments, electronics, etc. Another segment in which they are very focused is the great demand for cables and professional audio connectors in the audiovisual sector nationwide.
The last segment in which they are putting a lot of emphasis and work to promote with greater intensity is in the events sector where small and large-scale aluminum structures are completely necessary.
"The three product lines we handle share similar characteristics such as product diversity, high performance, durability and endurance in everyday use. Another important feature for the general public is that the cost of our products, despite being high quality products do not have high prices, otherwise they are offered at totally accessible prices, with discounts applied on purchases and launch of promotions every month, "said Luis Montalvan.
On the situation of the dollar in Colombia during 2015, he added that "between April and July of this year we saw a moderate sales decrease that was counter-subtracted by our company with the launch of promotions and offers offered to the general public, which helped us a lot to level the goals set. In general we can say that the conjuncture of the dollar affected the market to some extent but not on a large scale."
Penn Elcom is one of the companies that will be participating in the TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia Expo, an event that will be held at the Corferias convention center in Bogotá, Colombia, from November 10 to 12, in which they will be exhibiting Penn Elcom brand hardware and accessories, Amphenol brand professional audio connectors and cables, Trusst brand aluminum structures and a new line of Meteoro brand amplifiers.
