Modular splicing dome

Reichle & De-Massari (R&M)

The SYNO modular splicing dome is one of the products in R&M's FTTx portfolio, which can be integrated into end-to-end FTTx connectivity from the head office to the end user's premises. The SYNO dome is available in three models: 288F, 576F and 1.152F, which are compatible with simple or rollable fiber cables.

The innovative and highly modular SYNO gel technology used by R&M is setting a new standard in the mechanical cold sealing of joints. When the cable inlet is sealed, the gel surrounds each wire, preventing dust and moisture from entering. Fluctuating temperatures, mechanical loads or water pressure cannot damage the dome connector in any way. In addition, the gel blocks integrated into the cable input kits are easy to open and replace, are resealable and offer long-term stability.

SYNO modular splicing domes revolutionize the assembly process in FTTx outdoor plant applications and simplify maintenance tasks during operation. Cable inputs allow network operators to make bespoke deployment plans at short notice and integrate new fiber capabilities or paths at any time, without having to replace the splice or open existing splices.

Syno inlets are placed laterally in eight bays arranged radially in the splice duct. Cable input kits are interchangeable and support any desired configuration, as well as mixed sets of cables and microbeams. Cable inlets can be opened, closed, changed and retrofitted in a few simple steps. Cable bays and individual cables remain freely accessible, so that the dome splice can be modified or equipped with additional fiber optic cables during network operation.
