Sony introduced USB 3.0 robotic camera

Latin America. Sony Electronics introduced the SRG-120DU camera, the latest model in the popular line of remote-controlled high-definition SRG cameras. Joining Sony's renowned SRG-300SE, SRG-120DH and SRG-300H PTZ cameras, the SRG-120DU is the first in the PTZ line to include a USB 3.0 interface and offer UVC video support.

The SRG-120DU brings professional visual communications to your PC in the simplest way, allowing you to connect with unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions and multimedia streaming devices.

With an extremely wide field of view (71°) and a 12x/digital 12x autofocus optical zoom lens, it is perfect for small and medium-sized rooms. Its compact and lightweight all-in-one design makes it easy to be installed in a variety of locations, and is available with a silver cabinet.

"The new SRG-120DU camera carries the core concept of offering professional HD video devices that are easy to install and use on a level. By plugging the camera directly into the PC via the USB 3.0 input,  any meeting room, classroom, courtroom or  medical space will become a professional-level video collaboration environment," explained Terry Huber, Senior Marketing Manager, Sony Electronics, Remote Communications Group.

In addition to enjoying the ease of operation of a home webcam, the SRG-120DU is ideal for customers who need a higher quality image than is achieved with ordinary webcams. It combines high-speed data transfer of uncompressed video signals, which deliver high-quality Full HD images thanks to the latest advances in imaging technology to immediately adapt to even the most difficult lighting conditions.

Designed to produce results from an expert without being professional, SRG series PC control software offers complete flexibility for video professionals and full access to camera features such as exposure, white balance and gain.
